(Hide-DS4-Controller-config-option)-tips-and-issuesīut, if you cannot force the gamepad or the gamepad driver to make the Nacon ASymmetric to talk to PC as standard DS4 dinput device then there is nothing DS4Windows app can do about it (some 3rd party gamepads make an idiotic decision in PC to use xinput mode even when the gamepad would support full ds4 operation mode with PS4 console. See the following web pages for more info. That is perfectly normal (and you can change the virtual output controller type to be ds4), but it has nothing to do how the physical source controller looks like to PC as an input.

This is why you see the "Xbox360 gamepad" controller. You can set the output mode as xbox360 or dualshock4 in DS4Windows profile settings. Nacon support page also says this: "The Asymmetric Wireless Controller is compatible with all PC games that are X-Input compatible" Note the word "x-input compatible", it means that the gamepad firmware or the gamepad driver makes it to look like xbox xinput device and not as DS4 dinput device in PC.īut, this has nothing to do how the virtual output controller looks like. Okey, looks like the NaconAsymmetricWireless is registered in PC as a limited xinput device instead of "fully compatible DS4 dinput" device. The touchpad doesn't do anything and the light just glows white, no matter what. Jays2Kings' DS4Windows doesn't detect it either and in the Debug version of Ryochan7's DS4Windows the light and touchpad don't work. The rumble tests also don't work, while Rumble does work without DS4Windows.
#Ps4 appears in windows device but not in xinput test Bluetooth
I have it connected over a usb bluetooth adapter. In the debug version it gets detected as a potential DS4 gamepad. Only the things that already work without DS4Windows work and everything in Xinput checker works as well.

In Windows Bluetooth Settings it only Shows 'Wireless Controller for PS4'. In the Control Panel it shows 'Controller (XBOX 360 for Windows)' and 'Controller (Wireless Controller for PS4)', under both it shows Status: OK even though I never had an Xbox 360 Controller and I only have my Nacon Asymmetric Wireless Controller Connected with the Bluetooth receiver. In Output Slots it also shows X360 instead of DS4 and in Gamepad Tester it says Xbox 360 Controller (XInput STANDARD GAMEPAD). The Debug Version does detect it, but the touchpad doesn't work and it shows my battery as 0%, changing light color doesn't work etc. If it already exists, please tell me what I might be doing wrong. Right now it doesn't show up in DS4Windows.

This process was tested on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 and worked flawlessly both times. Please add Nacon Asymmetric Wireless Controller Support.

The Xbox 360 controls are virtually overlaid on the PS4 pad, so if you know the Xbox 360 gamepad buttons from memory, you’ll feel right at home. This effectively turns any gaming PC into the greatest console ever created. Most importantly, the PC now thinks that the PS4 is an Xbox 360 gamepad. I’m not going to go into detail here, because it’s all about customising the controller to meet your personal needs at this point. DS4 Xinput tool, once loaded, resides in the system tray, and clicking on it brings up these options: This means that Windows has detected the PS4 controller, so the fun can finally begin.ĭS4Tool won’t start automatically with Windows, so I suggest adding a shortcut to the “Startup” folder in Windows (this can be found in the Start Menu). If all is successful, a window like this will pop up:

Windows will search for the latest driver online and install it.

NET is version 4.0, that you have the latest DirectX drivers installed, and that you have full administrator rights for the PC.ĭownload DS4Tool 1.2.2 here, or visit this forum thread to grab earlier versions.Īfter unpacking the zip file to your desktop, go to the folder called Virtual Bus Driver and install ScpDriver.exe. This is the installation for the specific Bus device and driver.ģ. These custom drivers work without having to remap the buttons of the PS4 gamepad, using a HID protocol (usually reserved for wireless devices) to Xinput mapping. So, how do you connect a PS4 controller to the PC, so that it’s compatible with 99% of the games on the market? Easy, you follow these steps below: What does work on a PC though, is an Xbox 360 controller - ’cause Microsoft. Simply connecting the PS4 to a computer via USB will install the PS4 drivers, but as many of you have found out, most games won’t work with Sony’s wunder-controller. But getting it to work as a gaming controller for the PC is a mission onto itself. While the PS4 may be a bit of a paperweight these days (except for the lush Destiny), it has one of the best controllers yet invented.
